| Police seizes 02 tractors in Ganderbal | |
Srinagar, March 11 (Scoop News)-Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, Police in Ganderbal have seized 02 tractors carrying illegally extracted construction minerals in the jurisdiction of PS Ganderbal.
The vehicles were intercepted by police team of PS Ganderbal during routine patrolling and checking. Upon inspection, the vehicles were found transporting mining material without valid authorization, in violation of the prescribed norms. Accordingly, both vehicles were seized on the spot and the matter was taken up with the concerned Geology & Mining Department, which subsequently imposed the requisite fine under the relevant provisions of law.
J&K Police reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining activities and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in protecting natural resources. Strict action will continue against those found indulging in such unlawful practices.
