| Chief Secretary reviews implementation of Vibrant Village Programme in Ladakh | |
Leh, March 11 (Scoop News)- The Chief Secretary, Union Territory of Ladakh, Shri Ashish Kundra, chaired a meeting to review the progress and implementation of the Vibrant Village Programme in the Union Territory of Ladakh. The meeting focused on assessing the status of development works, planning framework, and future roadmap under the programme.
The meeting was attended by the Commissioner/Secretary, Dr L. Franklin; concerned Administrative Secretaries; Deputy Commissioner, Leh; Directors; Joint Directors; and other Heads of Departments.
During the meeting, the Administrative Secretary, Shashanka Ala, delivered a detailed presentation on the Vibrant Village Programme, highlighting its objectives, launch framework, coverage, financial outlay, and progress achieved so far in Ladakh.
The presentation also covered the planning framework adopted in the Union Territory, under which district infrastructure planning and development plans have been aligned with district-level priorities to ensure balanced and need-based development.
A comparative overview of Phase-I and Phase-II of the Vibrant Village Programme was presented, along with the key focus areas identified under the programme. The meeting also reviewed the thematic saturation approach being followed to ensure comprehensive development of selected villages.
Further details regarding the distribution of Vibrant Village Programme villages in Leh and Kargil districts were shared, along with the status of infrastructure assessments carried out across these villages.
Villages located in areas under the ITBP and the Army will be developed in coordination with these agencies. Focus should be given to employment generation activities, particularly in the sectors of horticulture and animal husbandry. The Horticulture Department will ensure the establishment of greenhouses in all these areas. The progress of projects under implementation, category-wise distribution of works, and major gaps requiring intervention were also discussed in detail.
The Chief Secretary emphasised the need for effective coordination among departments to ensure the timely execution of projects and directed the concerned officials to prioritise critical infrastructure and essential services in Vibrant Villages. He also stressed the importance of proper monitoring, timely utilisation of funds, and adherence to the programme guidelines to achieve the intended objectives. ... |
