PDF President Hakeem Yaseen Condemns Heinous Attack on Dr Farooq, Dy CM

Srinagar, March 12 (Scoop News)-People’s Democratic Front (PDF) President and former Cabinet Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has strongly condemned the heinous attack on Dr Farooq Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary and Nasir Aslam Wani during a wedding function in Jammu, terming the incident deeply disturbing and an attack on democratic values.

In a statement issued here, Yaseen said such brazen acts of violence have no place in a civilised society and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

“This reprehensible act is not merely an attack on individuals but an attempt to undermine the democratic ethos and create fear among public representatives,” Yaseen said, adding that such incidents pose a serious threat to peace and stability.

The PDF President stressed that ensuring the safety of public figures as well as ordinary citizens remains the foremost responsibility of the government. He urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and take *swift and stringent action against those involved*, so that the rule of law prevails and such incidents are not repeated.

Yaseen also commended the security personnel for their swift response and professionalism, which helped avert a major tragedy and ensured the safety of the dignitaries present at the event.

Expressing solidarity with the leaders who faced the attack, Yaseen said, “We stand firmly with Dr Farooq Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary and Nasir Aslam Wani during this difficult moment and hope they recover quickly from the shock of this traumatic incident.”

He further appealed to the people to maintain calm and unity, stressing that *collective resolve and vigilance are essential to defeat the forces of violence and hatred*.

“This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder that society must remain united in safeguarding peace, harmony and democratic values,” Yaseen added.
