| EC Kacho Feroz Meets Merchant Association Kargil | | Discusses Market Regulation and Enforcement Measures |
Kargil, March 24 (Scoop News)-Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Mohammad Feroz was called on by the members of the Merchant Association Kargil to discuss key issues related to market regulation and fair trade practices.
During the meeting, the representatives of the Merchant Association raised concerns regarding the disruption of market rates caused by unauthorized mobile vendors and vehicles selling goods without proper regulation. The Association President, Mohd Yaseen, highlighted that such practices are illegal and adversely affect the livelihood of registered shopkeepers.
The Association also brought attention to the issue of the non-issuance of “Form C” by the concerned department for the past few months, urging the authorities to address the matter on priority.
Executive Councillor Kacho Mohammad Feroz assured the members that the issues raised would be taken up with the concerned authorities for prompt resolution. He directed the formation of an enforcement team to conduct regular market inspections and ensure adherence to established norms. He further emphasized that the Hill Council Kargil, in coordination with the district administration, will extend full support to the Merchant Association. However, he also stressed the need for proper regulation of vendors under the law and urged them to maintain professionalism and accountability.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Ghulam Mohammad, assured that joint efforts with enforcement agencies would be initiated to conduct regular patrolling and maintain checks and balances in the market. Addressing the issue of “Form C,” the ADC informed that the existing rule has been revised and a new draft is in the final stages, which will be implemented soon. He also assured that the matter would be taken up with banking institutions to consider exemptions related to “Form C” for loan and lending purposes.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kargil Ghulam Mohammad, Tehsildar Kargil Ayaz Ahmed, Assistant Director Food Samina Khatoon, STO Kargi Namgyal, Food Safety Officer Nayeem Ahmed, DySP Headquarter Kargil Anyatullah, and officials from the Labour & Wages Department, Municipal Committee, and RTO.
