| DC Kargil Reviews Arrangements for Smooth Transportation of Hajj Pilgrims 2026 | |
Kargil, April 21 (Scoop News)-The Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, IAS, chaired a meeting today to review arrangements for the smooth transportation of Hajj Pilgrims 2026 from Kargil to Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by SSP Kargil, Sh. Nitin Yadav, IPS; Chairman, Hajj Committee Ladakh, Mohd Ali Majaz; ADC Kargil, Sh. Shabbir Hussain, JKAS; and Executive Officer, Hajj Committee Ladakh, Zakir Hussain.
It was decided that the flag-off of Hajj pilgrims will take place on April 26 and 28, 2026, from the Cooperative Fruit Processing Unit, Kharool at 07:00 AM. The convoy is scheduled to ensure that the last vehicle reaches Minimarg by 09:00 AM. Pilgrims have been advised to report at the venue well before 07:00 AM.
The cut-off time at the Minimarg Check Post shall be 09:00 AM, after which no vehicles will be allowed to proceed.
The SDM Drass will coordinate with BRO for timely road clearance, while PCR Kargil will issue necessary traffic advisories. The Chief Medical Officer, Kargil will deploy an ambulance up to Zero Point, which will remain stationed at Minimarg until the safe passage of the pilgrims to Sonamarg.
The District Police will provide escort to ensure smooth movement up to Baltal, and necessary traffic arrangements will be made within the town and along the route up to Zero Point. A Mobile Magistrate will also accompany the convoy up to Zero Point and will be deployed by the SDM Drass.
