| Parenting Guru-Emeritus Scholar Dr. J.S. Paranjyothi delivers invited talk at CUKashmir | |
Ganderbal, April 27 (KIP)- School of Education (SoE), Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) Monday hosted an invited talk on “Generational Adaptability of Teachers,” with noted academician and parenting Guru-Emeritus Scholar, Dr. J.S. Paranjyothi as the guest speaker.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean SoE, Prof. Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani, I/c Controller of Examinations, Prof. C Naseema, faculty members, research scholars and students were present.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Paranjyothi emphasized that teaching in the 21st century extends beyond conventional classroom instruction. He described it as a deeply human engagement rooted in empathy, connection, and understanding. “A teacher must strive to win the hearts of students,” he remarked, stressing that emotional bonding and trust are foundational to meaningful learning experiences. Elaborating on the complexities of modern classrooms, he highlighted the importance of recognizing students not merely as attendees but as individuals with distinct emotional, psychological, and intellectual needs. He noted that genuine teaching involves being attentive to these dimensions, thereby fostering an environment where students feel valued and motivated.
Dr. Paranjyothi advocated for a facilitative approach to teaching that nurtures curiosity, independent thinking, and self-directed learning. He observed that when students are actively engaged, they are better equipped to face real-world challenges with confidence and creativity. Drawing from nature and everyday experiences, he described the environment as the “best teacher,” encouraging educators to integrate experiential and context-based learning into their pedagogy. The speaker provided a nuanced understanding of generational diversity, discussing learners from Generation X to Generation Alpha and beyond. He pointed out that each generation is shaped by unique socio-cultural and technological influences, which in turn affect their learning styles and expectations.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, lauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of such academic engagements in strengthening teacher education. He remarked that the University remains committed to fostering innovative pedagogical practices and nurturing educators who are responsive to the evolving needs of society. He further noted that adaptability and empathy are indispensable qualities for teachers in today’s dynamic educational landscape. Prof. A Ravinder Nath observed that the talk offered valuable insights into their (students and scholars) future roles as educators and its relevance in addressing contemporary educational challenges.
