Police seals violating medical shops; Strengthens anti-drug awareness campaign in Baramulla

Srinagar, May 01 (Scoop News)- In a firm move to combat drug misuse and ensure regulatory compliance, Police in Baramulla, in coordination with the Drug Department, sealed two medical shops at Sharkwara for serious violations. One shop was found operating without a valid licence, while another (Hakeem Medicate) was sealed for failing to adhere to prescribed Standard Operating Procedures.

This action reflects the administration’s zero-tolerance approach towards the misuse of pharmaceutical substances and its commitment to enforcing strict legal standards across all medical establishments. Authorities have warned that any violations of norms will result in stringent action.

As part of its continued efforts to raise awareness, Police also organized a high-energy motorcycle rally at Uri under the ongoing 100-day campaign of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan. The rally commenced from NS Bridge Uri and passed through several areas, spreading a strong message against drug abuse.

Around 50 motorcyclists participated enthusiastically, alongside police personnel and local residents, demonstrating a united stand against the drug menace. Participants raised impactful slogans and encouraged the public to support the mission of building a drug-free society.

The event concluded with participants taking a pledge to continue supporting the campaign and contribute towards a healthier and safer community.

J&K Police has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying enforcement measures and awareness initiatives to eliminate drug abuse and protect public well-being.
