| DC Nubra chairs Meeting of District Road Safety Committee | |
Nubra, June 03 (Scoop News)- Deputy Commissioner, Nubra, Sh. Mukul Beniwal, IAS, chaired a meeting today of District Road Safety Committe Nubra.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to prepare a schedule for conducting a joint survey to identify accident-prone blackspots and road stretches requiring widening and construction of by-lanes. He also emphasized the need for timely repair of potholes and damaged road sections to ensure the safe movement of traffic.
The Deputy Commissioner further instructed all stakeholder departments to coordinate effectively in the development of wayside public conveniences and to ensure optimum utilization of resources.
The meeting also discussed strengthening road safety measures, removal of encroachments in Highway ROW, enhancing highway patrolling, installing safety signage, and improving emergency response mechanisms across the district.
The meeting was attended by Stanzin Losal (JKPS), Superintendent of Police, Nubra, Jigmet Rabtan (JKAS), Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Nubra, Tehsildar Sumoor, Executive Engineer, PWD, Commanding Officers of BRO, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Leh, Block Medical Officer, Nubra and other concerned officials.
