| District Police Kargil Kicks Off Series of Sports Events Under Civic Action Programme | | 
Kargil, June 06 (Scoop News)- District Police Kargil today commenced a series of sports events under the Civic Action Programme with the inauguration of an Archery Tournament at the District Police Lines (DPL), Kargil, in coordination with the Ladakh Archery Association, Kargil Wing.
The inaugural event was attended by DySP Headquarters Shri Anayatullah, JKPS, DySP Tundup Dorjay, KPS, SHO Kargil, representatives of the Ladakh Archery Association Kargil Wing, and other officials.
A total of 12 teams, comprising 9 male teams and 3 female teams from various sub-divisions and district-level clubs, are participating in the tournament.
Speaking to the media, DySP Headquarters Anayatullah, JKPS, said that under the leadership of the Director General of Police and SSP Kargil Nitin Yadav, District Police Kargil has launched a series of activities under the Civic Action Programme. He said that various sporting events, including football, volleyball, badminton, taekwondo, and other competitions, will be organized over the coming weeks.
He emphasized that the primary objective of these activities is to engage youth in constructive pursuits, promote physical and mental well-being, strengthen police-public relations, and steer young people away from drug abuse and other harmful substances. He added that the programme has been launched with the traditional sport of archery, which holds a special place in the culture of Kargil.
Addressing the participants, DySP Tundup Dorjay, KPS, said that Ladakh Police has consistently worked to engage youth through recruitment orientation programmes and sports activities. He stated that the department aims to empower young people by providing opportunities for positive engagement and leadership.
He further informed that a series of educational and awareness programmes, including quiz and debate competitions, will also be organized as part of the Civic Action Programme. He expressed hope that the participants would enjoy the tournament and inspire more youth to take part in sports and other constructive activities. ... |
