| Industries & Commerce Department organises Training-cum-Workshop | | On Single Window Portal to Strengthen Ease of Doing Business in Ladakh |
Leh,June 12 (Scoop News)- In a significant step towards enhancing the ease of doing business and promoting efficient service delivery, the Department of Industries & Commerce, UT Ladakh, today organised a Training-cum-Workshop on the Single Window Portal (Ease of Doing Business), which was officially launched on May 25, 2026.
The portal currently hosts 24 live services across various government departments and serves as a unified digital platform for facilitating business approvals, clearances, and investor services.
The workshop was conducted with the objective of familiarising officers and officials of various stakeholder departments with the operational aspects of the portal and strengthening their capacity for effective implementation and utilization of the system. The initiative is aimed at streamlining service delivery, improving inter-departmental coordination, and providing a seamless experience to investors, entrepreneurs, and businesses seeking approvals and clearances in the Union Territory.
Officers and representatives from the Departments of Agriculture, Industries & Commerce, Fire & Emergency Services, Forest, Housing & Urban Development, Power Development, Public Health Engineering, Public Works (R&B), Legal Metrology, State Taxes, and other concerned departments participated in the training programme.
During the workshop, officials from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Information Technology Department delivered detailed presentations on the functioning and features of the Single Window Portal. The participants were guided through various components of the platform, including user registration, login procedures, password management, workflow mechanisms, application processing, and service delivery modules.
The resource persons also provided a comprehensive overview of the portal's key features such as “Know Your Approvals,” investor services, departmental workflows, policies, incentives, government schemes, downloadable documents, land bank information, RAMP initiatives, investor login modules, departmental dashboards, assigned applications, tracking systems, and approval status monitoring mechanisms.
The workshop included practical demonstrations and interactive sessions aimed at enabling departmental officers to efficiently process applications and manage services through the digital platform. Participants were also briefed on application tracking, workflow management, service timelines, and departmental responsibilities under the Ease of Doing Business framework.
An interactive question-and-answer session was held during which officers raised queries regarding modification and updation of application forms, departmental roles and responsibilities, designated approving authorities, workflow processes, service integration, and the distinction between the Single Window Portal and other online service delivery platforms. Officials from NIC addressed the queries and clarified operational procedures. Departments were also advised to submit any pending service-related data and credentials required for onboarding additional services onto the portal.
The workshop concluded with a commitment from all participating departments to actively utilise the Single Window Portal and work collaboratively towards strengthening the Ease of Doing Business ecosystem in Ladakh through efficient, transparent, and technology-driven governance.
The programme was attended by officers and officials from various departments, representatives of NIC, the Information Technology Department, and other stakeholders associated with the implementation of the Single Window Portal in the Union Territory.
