| CAs plays a Vital Role in the Economic Development of the Country:Sat Sharma | | Jammu, July 14 (Scoop News)-A delegation from the J&K Branch of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) met with Sh. Sat Sharma Ji, CA, President of J&K BJP and Member of Parliament, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Jammu.
Sh. Sat Sharma appreciated the efforts of CA's and said the CA's are pivotal in making the society financially independent and appreciated the efforts of CA's in helping to make the 5 trillion economy in near future During the meeting, the members of the J&K Branch expressed deep appreciation for the strong points raised by Sh. Sat Sharma Ji in Parliament regarding the persistent problems of non-uploading of TDS and related compliance challenges adversely affecting professionals and businesses.
The members also apprised him about the significant issues being faced by the Chartered Accountant fraternity in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly the practice of assigning audits by the J&K Govt. and its institutions to outside firms, and the lack of employment opportunities for local CAs in various corporations and government undertakings in the Union Territory.
Sh. Sat Sharma Ji gave a patient hearing to all the concerns presented by the delegation and assured them that these important issues will be taken up at appropriate forums. He further assured that necessary steps will be initiated to mitigate the challenges faced by the CA community in J&K.
Addressing the gathering, CA. Amit Gupta, Chairman of the J&K Branch, stated, "It is through collaborative efforts between the administration and professionals that we can build a robust economic framework. As a fraternity, we remain committed to working together to resolve these systemic challenges and ensure that local Chartered Accountants continue to play a pivotal role in the development of Jammu & Kashmir."
