| NIT Srinagar's FOSS Club Hosts Hands-On Workshop on Frappe Framework | | Srinagar, August 03 (Scoop News)-The Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) Club at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar organised a hands-on technical workshop on the Frappe Framework and ERPNext, introducing students to open-source tools used for developing enterprise and business applications.
It was attended by Dean of Students Welfare, Prof. Mohd Abid Bazaz, along with faculty members Dr. Pramod Kumar Yadav, Dr. Pankaj Kumar and Scientific Officer NIT Srinagar, Er. Mustafa Zargar, who interacted with participants and encouraged students to engage with emerging open-source technologies.
The technical session was led by Akshit Bhardwaj, Team Lead, who conducted live coding demonstrations and explained the fundamentals of the Frappe Framework and ERPNext.
Participants were introduced to the process of developing business applications, writing client-side scripts and deploying basic software modules using the framework.
Members of the FOSS Club provided hands-on assistance throughout the workshop, helping participants install the framework, configure the development environment, and build their first applications during the interactive session.
The workshop, sponsored by Myasa NextGen Technology, drew participation from a large number of students, who attended the session with their laptops to gain practical exposure to application development using the Python-based Frappe Framework.
The organisers said the workshop was aimed at equipping students with practical skills in open-source software development and exposing them to technologies widely used in enterprise application development.
The event also provided students with an opportunity to interact with developers, clarify technical concepts and understand the role of open-source platforms in the software industry.
The workshop forms part of the FOSS Club's ongoing efforts to promote collaborative learning and encourage students to contribute to open-source software projects. According to the organisers, the FOSS Club of the Institute will continue to support student-led technical activities that strengthen innovation, skill development, and industry readiness among engineering students.
