Police Secures first of its kind Conviction in Foreigners Act Case in Anantnag
Hotel Manager Fined ₹50,000 and Imprisonment for not filing Form C
Srinagar, August 05 (Scoop News)-Police in Anantnag have secured the conviction of a hotel manager in a case pertaining to violation of mandatory reporting requirements concerning foreign nationals.

The Hon’ble Court of the Additional Mobile Magistrate, while deciding FIR No. 18/2026 under Sections 8 & 23(b) of the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025, registered at Police Station Pahalgam, convicted Mohan Lal son of Darsa Raam, resident of Chitna, Baderwah, Manager of Hotel Misty Mountain, Movera.

The accused was convicted for failing to upload the mandatory Form C in respect of two Thai nationals who had stayed at the hotel during 01–02 December.

The Hon’ble Court imposed a fine of ₹50,000/- along with one day’s imprisonment upon the convict.

J&K Police reiterates its commitment to ensuring strict compliance with statutory provisions governing the stay and reporting of foreign nationals, thereby strengthening security and regulatory mechanisms.
