| Anantnag launches Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 | | Commemorates 150 Years of Vande Mataram | Anantnag, August 09 (Scoop News)- In a grand and spirited ceremony held today at the Townhall, Municipal Council Anantnag, the district administration kickstarted the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign-2026 along with '3rd Phase 150 Years of Vande Mataram Commemoration'.
The celebrations scheduled from August 09 to August 17 mark a significant milestone in fostering national unity and to gain valuable knowledge about the Freedom Movement and National Symbols.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat presided over the event as the Chief Guest, setting a patriotic tone for the district level campaign and upcoming Independence Day celebrations. The event was attended by senior officers from district administration, district and sectoral heads, officers from engineering wings, officials from various departments, civil society members, youth volunteers, media fraternity and a large section of the general public.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized instilling the values of patriotism and public service among the citizens including officials and youth. He paid glowing tributes to the supreme sacrifices of countless freedom fighters whose relentless struggles paved the way for India's independence.The Campaign shall serve as an active platform to honour the contribution of the National Heroes and their struggle and commitment provide great inspiration for the younger generation, he remarked.
Elaborating the design and philosophy of the National Flag, the DC explained the sacred origins of the Ashoka Chakra from the Dharma Chakra, underscoring how it signifies continuous progress, justice, and the supreme Rule of Law in modern day India. He highlighted the historical significance of Tricolor and laid special emphasis on public service delivery and upholding the rule of law as appropriate ways to honor it's legacy.
Dr. Bilal called for the conduct of vibrant activities including Mega Tiranga Rallies, art and creative engagements besides 'Selfie with Tiranga' at district level, subdivisions, Tehsils, blocks, Panchayats, schools, colleges, public spaces and offices, prominent places and other institutions with wide public participation and patriotic fervor. He urged citizens, students, and officials to participate enthusiastically; making the campaign a massive success across the district.
Reiterating the core objectives of these campaigns, the DC stated that the national flag, national anthem and national song are symbols of our unity and resilience. He called upon the citizens to uphold ethical values and contribute actively toward building a responsible, progressive, and cohesive society. "As we celebrate 150 years of Vande Mataram, let us also recommit ourselves to building a stronger, more disciplined, and more harmonious society", he stressed.
To educate the attendees about national symbols, a documentary on the history and evolution of the National Flag was screened on the occasion.
