| Students of Government Degree College Zanskar Participate in Ladakh Book Festival 2026 | |
Zanskar, August 20 (Scoop News)-Students of Government Degree College Zanskar participated in the Ladakh Book Festival 2026, organised by the Union Territory of Ladakh and Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with the National Book Trust (NBT), India, at the NDS Memorial Sports Complex, Leh.
The participation was carried out under the able guidance and leadership of Dr. Amjad Ali Abbasi, Principal, Government Degree College Zanskar, whose encouragement and support helped ensure the students’ meaningful participation in the festival. During the festival, the students visited numerous book and magazine stalls, exploring publications from reputed publishers and popular magazines, including The Hindu and Pratiyogita Darpan. The exposure to a diverse range of books and reading materials encouraged curiosity among students and fostered greater interest in reading and learning.
During the festival, the students attended the ‘Ranks & Reflections’ session featuring Lt. General D. P. Pandey, in conversation with Col. Ajay Raina. The session provided students an opportunity to gain insights into leadership, discipline, responsibility and military experience through an engaging interaction with distinguished military professionals.
The students also visited the ‘Know Your Army’ section, where they witnessed displays of military weapons and equipment. The visit provided a meaningful combination of literary exposure, interactive learning and awareness of the armed forces. The students were escorted by Mr. Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, Librarian, Government Degree College Zanskar. The participation aimed to nurture a reading culture among students and provide them with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
