IUST Invites Researchers and Academicians to Participate in J&K Science Congress 2026


Awantipora, August 20 (Scoop News)- The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), in collaboration with the Jammu & Kashmir Science, Technology & Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Government of Jammu & Kashmir, will host the Jammu & Kashmir Science Congress 2026 from September 29 to October 1, 2026, at the University campus.

The Congress, titled “Science, Innovation and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable and Viksit J&K,” will bring together researchers, innovators, policymakers, industry representatives, and students from across the country to explore emerging scientific and technological solutions for sustainable development. More than 500 scientists and researchers are expected to participate in the Congress.

The Congress invites researchers, academicians and scientific professionals to actively participate and contribute their research and perspectives to the deliberations. The event will feature plenary lectures by eminent scientists, technical sessions, panel discussions, exhibitions, start-up showcases, innovation displays and policy dialogues, providing opportunities for meaningful academic and professional engagement.

The thematic tracks cover a broad range of contemporary areas, including Advanced Materials, Nanoscience and Sustainable Manufacturing; Drug Discovery, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Healthcare Innovations; AI, Data Science and Emerging Digital Technologies; Biotechnology and Bioeconomy; Sustainable Energy and Himalayan Ecosystem Resilience; Water Security and Earth System Sciences; Science, Society and Sustainable Development; Science Communication, Media and Public Engagement; Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Humanities, Ethics and Emerging Technologies; Sustainable Food Processing; Smart Engineering Systems and Industry 5.0; Physical, Chemical and Mathematical Sciences; and Natural Sciences, Biodiversity Conservation and Environmental Sustainability.

A dedicated school-level science outreach programme will further engage young learners through competitions, exhibitions, poster and model presentations, and other interactive activities, encouraging scientific curiosity and innovation among school students across Jammu & Kashmir.
