| GDC Kargil Concludes Week-Long Intramural Sports Tournament | |
Kargil, September 07 (Scoop News)- Government Degree College Kargil, Department of Physical Education and Sports successfully concluded its week-long Intramural Sports Tournament 2026, under the supervision of Principal GDC Kargil Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi.
The Tournament featuring various men’s and women’s competitions in Table Tennis, Badminton, Volleyball and Handball. The concluding program was attended by more than 200 students of the college.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Mustafa Ali, Director Education and Sports, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and emphasized the importance of sports in promoting discipline, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mohd. Ishaq, Senior Faculty, highlighted the significance of sports and encouraged students to actively participate in games and sporting activities for their physical and mental well-being, as well as for their positive contribution to society.
Medals and certificates were distributed among the finalist students in recognition of their achievements and participation in the tournament.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Sajjad Hussain, Assistant Professor and Co-Convener, College Sports Committee, who expressed gratitude to all the officials, faculty members, volunteers and students for their contributions towards the successful conduct of the tournament.
The program was moderated by Shahar Banoo, student of 3rd Semester.
