| Ten Startup Ideas shortlisted at JKEDI's Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 Boot Camp | |
Jammu, September 08 (Scoop News)-Ten promising startup ideas have been shortlisted for the next round of Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 at an 'Idea Pitching Session' organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), District Centre Jammu here at Government SPMR College of Commerce, today.
The Boot-camp drew around 100 students and aspiring entrepreneurs. It was designed to introduce young minds to entrepreneurship, innovation and startup opportunities, while familiarising them with the support available under the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27.
The programme was inaugurated by the College Principal Dr. Sunil Gupta, in the presence of District Nodal Officer, JKEDI District Centre Jammu Rajesh Kotwal, the College faculty members and JKEDI. In his address, Dr. Gupta commended JKEDI's initiative and urged students to identify real-world problems and develop innovative solutions with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Rajesh Kotwal underscored the growing role of entrepreneurship and innovation in generating employment and economic opportunity. He outlined JKEDI's ongoing efforts to nurture young entrepreneurial talent and strengthen the startup ecosystem across Jammu and Kashmir.
The highlight of the programme was an interactive session with Founder Clmrat India Pvt. Ltd Manik Bandral. He shared his entrepreneurial journey and practical insights with participants, offering a candid view of the realities of building a startup, the challenges entrepreneurs face and the value of persistence, innovation and learning from experience.
The centrepiece of the Boot-camp was the Idea Pitching Session, in which 15 startup ideas presented by students from various Colleges and institutions were evaluated by a jury. Of these 10 were shortlisted for the next level of Startup Idea Challenge 2.0.
Beyond the pitching session, the boot camp gave participants a broader understanding of the startup ecosystem, helping them explore entrepreneurial opportunities, develop and validate business ideas, and build skills in presenting ideas effectively.
The programme concluded with the announcement of the 10 shortlisted ideas, marking another step forward in fostering innovation-led entrepreneurship and strengthening the culture of startups in Jammu and Kashmir.
