| GDC Kargil Faculty Receives Best Oral Presentation Award at National Conference | |
Kargil, September 08 (Scoop News)-Dr. Mohd Raza, Assistant Professor of Biotechnology at Government Degree College (GDC), Kargil, has been conferred the Best Oral Presentation Award at the National Conference on “Biodiversity, Conservation and Biotechnology of Microbes and Plants (NCBCBMP-2026)”, organised by the Department of Botany, University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus, from September 5 to 7, 2026.
The three-day national conference was organised with the theme “Biodiversity, Conservation and Biotechnology of Microbes and Plants” and was funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The conference featured three major sub-themes, including Metabolic Engineering; Secondary Metabolites and Drug Discovery; and Sustainable Conservation. During the conference, Dr. Mohd Raza presented his research paper titled “matK as a Potential DNA Barcode and Proximate Analysis of Rheum tibeticum, an Endangered Medicinal Plant from Ladakh in the Western Himalayas.”
In recognition of his research work, Dr. Mohd Raza received the Best Oral Presentation Certificate under the theme category of Drug Discovery and Conservation.
Principal, GDC Kargil, Dr. Amjad Ali, congratulated Dr. Mohd Raza on the achievement and appreciated his efforts towards promoting research and academic excellence. He wished him continued success in his future academic and research endeavours.
The achievement reflects the commitment of the faculty of GDC Kargil towards advancing research in biotechnology, biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilisation of the rich biological resources of Ladakh.
