| AAM-PHC Sakti Observes International Day of Clean Air | | for Blue Skies with Community Participation | 
Sakti , Warila & Changla , September 10 (Scoop News)-AAM-PHC Sakti is observing the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies through a week-long programme from 7th to 14th September 2026, under the theme “The Economic Case for Air Pollution Action.” The programme aims to create awareness about the importance of clean air, prevention of air pollution and collective community action for a healthier environment.
As part of the week-long observance, AAM-PHC Sakti actively participated and collaborated with various local stakeholders in the Warila and Changla Clean Drive, organised with the support of the Rangyoul Chemsakh Association, Sakti, Chemdey, & Kharu vilages and Ladakh Buddhist Association, Kharu Block, along with the SDM Kharu, 3rd Infantry Division, 51 RCC (GREF), Youths of Chemsakh, Power Grid Corporation, BMC Taknak and various local societies and community groups.
The cleanliness drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of schools in Sakti, villagers, youth groups and members of various local societies, reflecting a strong spirit of community ownership towards preserving the pristine environment of Ladakh. The collective effort focused on cleaning and maintaining the surroundings of the high-altitude areas of Warila and Changla, while reinforcing the message that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility.
Seven Health Care Workers (HCWs) from AAM-PHC Sakti, including the Medical Officer In-charge, participated in the cleanliness drive. The Medical Officer also provided medical assistance and emergency support through the AAM-PHC Sakti ambulance during the programme, ensuring health and safety support for the participants.
As part of the observance, awareness activities were also conducted on 9th September 2026 among the community, villagers and students. Participants were sensitised about the health effects of air pollution, the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, responsible waste management, prevention of open burning and the need for collective action to protect Ladakh's exceptionally fragile mountain environment.
The programme highlighted that clean air is not only an environmental concern but also a public health priority. Through the participation of health workers, schools, villagers, youth and civil society organisations, AAM-PHC Sakti reaffirmed its commitment to promoting healthier communities and a cleaner, greener Ladakh.
