| DIET Leh Commences Two-Day SMC Training Programme for Kharu Zone | |
Leh, October 21 (Scoop News)-The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, has commenced a two-day training programme for School Management Committee (SMC) members and educational stakeholders of Kharu Zone.
During the training programme, Resource Persons (RPs) are orienting participants on various aspects of SMC functioning, including the norms and procedures for the selection of SMC members, their roles and responsibilities, the election process, academic planning, financial management, and the monitoring of school infrastructure and facilities.
The programme also focuses on the preparation of School Development Plans (SDPs), the conduct of social audits, and the effective mobilisation of resources through convergence with various ministries and government departments.
The training aims to strengthen the capacity of SMC members and other educational stakeholders to participate effectively in school governance, ensure transparency and accountability, and contribute to the overall improvement of the quality of education in the district. Training was headed by HOD Sonam Lamo and her team.
