Mian Altaf releases latest Gojri publications | | Srinagar,July 29 (Scoop News) – Releasing latest Gojri publications reflecting varied shades of the Gujjar tribe at an impressive function organised by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at its headquarters here on Friday, Minister for Forests and Environment , Mian Altaf Ahmad said that the government is very keen to develop all languages of the State including Gojri . He said being an ancient language presently spoken by Gujjars, Bakerwals and other down trodden groups Gojri deserve fair deal at all levels. The books, which were released today, have been compiled by chief editor Gojri, Dr. Javaid Rahi and include Kulyat-e-Rana Fazal, a poetry collection of Rana Fazal Hussain two volume, Kalam-e-Ismail Zabi Rajourvi, and Gujjar Tareekh te Sakafat – an essay collection by noted Gojri scholar Abdul Gani Azhari. On the occasion, Minister said that it was a matter of honour for him to release publications of the kind which have been written by contemporary Gojri stalwarts like Rana Fazal Hussain, Ismail Zabahe and Abdul Ghani Shashi. . Describing the efforts of Gojri section of Academy as praiseworthy the minister said that the section should continue to highlight different shades of Gojri life and culture so that public perception could be moulded in favour of this downtrodden community. Earlier in his welcome address, secretary Academy Zafar Iqbal Manhas said that during his tenure as secretary all the sections of Academy have done a commendable job and would continue to do so in future also. Referring to the functioning of the Gojri section Manhas said that it is one of the important and vibrant sections, which has contributed significantly to promotion of Gojri tradition and culture.Presentlt there are around 38 books of Gojri are in Press for publication. As part of the event a musical programme was also organised by the Academy in which several prominent Gojri artists took part. Prominent among those who performed in today’s function included Begum Jan and party, Razia Begum,Noor un Nissa Sher Ali and Farid Ahmad Parwaz among others. Earlier noted Gojri writer and poet, Naseem Punchi read an extensive paper on these latest Gojri publications. In his paper Punchi highlighted the contribution of Gojri writers and poets to promotion of Gojri language and culture. The programme proceedings were conducted by editor cum cultural officer Gojri, Mohammed Mansha Khaki while additional secretary Kashmir, Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn supervised the event. ... |
