Microsoft to conduct technology event in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 6 (Scoop News) –A cluster of tech savvy youth of Kashmir valley are going to organize a day-long technology-based event - Dream Spark - under a worldwide educational program - Microsoft Student Partners – here at Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) on Sunday, June 9.

The event, being organized in collaboration with Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), will offer interactive sessions with the brightest students and professionals of the information technology world who will discuss technology, talk about careers in computer world, and give technical presentations. The speakers will be from Microsoft, Intel, and a guest speaker from Oracle.


“Dream Spark is a Microsoft India initiative empowering students, passionate about technology, to get an insightful overview of the current trends in the software industry”, one of the event organizers said adding that the intentions behind the event is to broaden the technical horizon of the students pursuing or willing to pursue a career in Computer Science or Information Technology and inject them with real-world skills.

The organizers claim to impart knowledge about the things ‘beyond the loop, logic gates and things taught in academia’. “The event also has a lot of fun and surprises in store for the participants”, they claimed.

The benefits provided to the participants of the event include a certificate of participation and free software ‘worth lakhs’. The event organizers will also provide goodies to tech savvy participants.
The passes of the event have been made available by the campaigning team at various colleges in Valley, and limited passes have been made available at Barzulla centre of National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT). However, the event organizers appealed people to contact them on their helpline number 9419004680 to confirm availability of passes.
Elite companies of Kashmir valley including Khyber, Kanwal, Jamkash Vehicleades, NIIT (Barzulla centre) and Manchester Education Consultants are sponsoring the event besides Space Communications being its event management partner. The promotional activities for the event are being conducted in association with its media partners, Greater Kashmir and JandK Now.
