| Shabir pays rich tributes to Kashmir media doyen, Sona Ullah Aftab | | Srinagar,November 23,(Scoop NEws)_ Paying rich tributes to founding editor of the Daily Aftab and “father of journalism” in Kashmir, Khwaja Sanaullah Aftab, senior separatist,Democratic Freedom Party (DFP)leader,Shabir Ahmad Shah,on Saturday said late Snaullah Aftab was a unique personality in the history of journalism in Kashmir.
"He was not only a journalist but a arbitrator too, which was evident through his famous column “Khazir Sochtaa Hain Wular Ke Kinaare”,” Shah said, adding that it was thorugh this column we could gauge the depthness of his ideology and vastness of his knowledge.
Shah said that apart from being a briliant analyst, Khwaja Sahib was also a fearless critic.
“His critical analysis was the excellence of his literary works.” DFP leader said adding since Khawaja Sahib was well versed with the history of Kashmiri politics; he fulfilled his responsibility as a “voice of people’s sentiments” with utmost courage.
“To analyse Kashmir politics and present it in the backdrop of subcontinent was his routine affair”, Shah said.
He said that Sanaullah Bhat was, by nature, a champion of freedom and used to hold pro-freedom leadership in well esteem.”Khwaja Sahib was not only ideologically pro-freedom personality but practically too.”
Shah said that the status of The Daily Aftab is exceptional in Kashmiri journalism.
“The role played by this newspaper in highlighting the political consciousness among Kashmiris is commendable,” Shah said, adding that our hopes are pinned at present management of this newspaper that they would uphold the high traditions of the daily.
