Students hold protest demonstration against Jammu University in Bhaderwah | allege error in assessment | Bhaderwah, March 29, (Scoop News)-Scores of graduate students of Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah held protests against University of Jammu and marched through the streets of the town demanding revaluation and rechecking of the first semester examination of B.A, B.Sc and B.Com.
“Most of the students have either been declared fail or having obtained reappear in their first semester exams of several graduation streams. We want revaluation and rechecking of our answer papers,” alleged S.Tariq Khan, a student.
Students who assembled inside the college premises took out a procession chanting slogans against University authorities, meandering through the streets and culminated near historical Seri Bazaar of the town.
“This doesn’t pertain to a particular student but scores of them have been declared unsuccessful or having obtained reappear,” Khan added.
The students argued that there was a possibility of some error on part of those who assessed the answer sheets and demand re-totaling of the papers.
Admitting of getting embroiled in catch 22 situation, the students said that even if they apply for revaluation as on date, the results will not be announced till May which was of no use to them since admission procedures will be closed in University of Jammu or elsewhere for higher classes.
