| Stresses upon involvement of more youth in games | |
Budgam, July 21 (Scoop News)-A meeting was chaired today by DDC Budgam Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar (IAS) to review status of District wide games in the discipline of chess & carrom under the age group of 25 years for boys & girls in Budgam.
Among others, ADC Budgam, District Panchayat officer, Block Development Officers and officers & officials of concerned Department were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC Budgam said that it is important to channelize the energy of youth in right direction, in this context, games provide an opportunity & hold critical position in shaping attitude, behavior & health of boys & girls.
It is pertinent to mention that these games are going to be conducted by District Youth Services & Sports Department in collaboration with Rural Development Department Budgam.
DDC Budgam stated that identification of venues should be done at an earliest. Focus should be upon both school going students and Non students as well. Around 280 Registered Youth clubs in District Budgam can provide vital information in identification of talented youth aspiring to take part in these games.
DDC Budgam lauded role of RDD in recently concluded 'Back to Village' programme & urged RDD Budgam to involve functionaries of Panchayat Raj Institution being a constitutional body. Further DDC instructed to have hassle free transport service for boys & girls participating in games besides refreshment & adequate supply of drinking water.
A threadbare discussion was held regarding fixation of various dates for foundation course, screening/training course and final day of competition.
