Various delegations meet Governor in Nubra | |
Leh, July 23 (Scoop News)-Governor Satya Pal Malik, who is on a two-day visit to Nubra Valley in Leh district since yesterday, met various delegations on the first day of his visit.
Governor met delegations of LAHDC, Leh; Ladakh Amchi Sabha and public representatives of Nubra Sub-division at Diskit, Nubra.
The CEC, LAHDC, Leh, submitted a memorandum concerning the long pending issues of Nubra sub-division to Governor. He expressed gratitude to the Governor for his second visit to the district within a month’s time and requested him to take necessary action in resolving the issues of Nubra Valley. The delegation demanded creation of separate district for Nubra; making the Nubra Development Authority functional by creating the required posts; timely completion of Shatse Taknak and Udmaru Bridges in Nubra; upgradation of Middle Schools of Chalungkha and Gunesthang Bogdang to High Schools; sanctioning of special economic/financial/employment package to Turtuk block and issuance of Actual Line of Control (ALC) certificates etc.
The public representatives of Nubra Sub Division made a request for allocation of funds for construction of Nubra Yatri Niwas at Skampari, Leh.
The delegation of Ladakh Amchi Sabha requested Governor for amendment of section 16(2-A) of Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic, Unani, Sowa Rigpa (Amchi), Yoga and Naturopathy Practitioners Act, 1959 to allow traditional Sowa-Rigpa practitioners to register under the Act.
The Delegation from Turtuk demanded for a Women College in Turtuk. Sarpanches and Nambarders of Nubra also demanded creation of a separate district for Nubra.
Governor gave a patient hearing to the demands and problems of the locals and assured that these would be duly examined and addressed on priority.
