Who represented people of J&K in PM’s Video Conference, any public representative? | | Bhim Singh
“This is the voice coming from all corners of India that PM, Shri Narendra Modi addressed a historic ‘Video Conference’ with the Representatives/ State Chief Ministers from all States but there was no representative/elected or otherwise from Jammu & Kashmir. J&K has elected MPs and any MP could have attended the PM’s conference. It is sad that nobody from the so called two Union Territories, Ladakh & Jammu & Kashmir raised this point and still are keeping quiet. Is it the punishment to the citizens of India in erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir. They have been deprived of statehood since 5th August, 2019 and today Jammu & Kashmir is without a State Assembly and none is there to represent erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir”. This message was sent to the President of India, Shri Ramnath Kovind as Jammu & Kashmir as well as Ladakh are under President’s Rule. The local elected Assembly has been dissolved. There is no hope for next Assembly election in the ‘Twin States’. Under the President’s Rule the citizens of India in erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir have been deprived of their Fundamental Rights and they are being governed by the bureaucrats dispatched from President’s Secretariat, New Delhi. Hardly any neo Governors from different parts of the country have any idea about the culture, geography & secular image of the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir. The people of Jammu & Kashmir have lost any right or opportunity to represent their problems through their elected representatives. Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the Chief Ministers from different States of the country who represented the people of the State and find an opportunity to implement the new message of the Prime Minister. Alas! People of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh had no elected Representative/Chief Minister to participate in this historic conference today. Many voices came, why not the elected MPs, elected representatives from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh could participate in the absence of an elected Chief Minister? It is shocking said Prof. Bhim Singh, former Legislator & Chief Patron/Founder of J&K National Panthers Party. He said, this time of Corona Virus (Covid-19) in J&K and in the rest of the world, it is shocking for the residents of J&K that such bureaucrats who do not even know the geography, culture and history of the two UTs have been handed over who know the language of suppression and oppression. They know not the problems of the local people who have been suffering for want of justice and equity. The people are hungry, workless and many are ailing, immobile and there is none to hear their woes. NPP Supremo charged that it appears that the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh have been struck off from the political mainstream scenario of the country. Neither of the Lt. Governors have even attempted to establish a dialogue with the leadership of recognized State political parties nor has the Govt. of India ever thought of it. While the citizens watched TV news regarding other parts of the country there is no mention of this historic erstwhile State that has been reduced to two UTs with their statehood reduced to zero. Prof. Bhim Singh has demanded immediate start of dialogue with the leadership of recognized state political parties on the issue of Lockdown and grievances of the people, failing which there shall be serious outbursts of public anger, especially, in the interior and remote parts of the UTs, the consequences of which shall have to be borne by the ruling elites of the country that may be dangerous for the safety, security and integrity of the country. Prof. Bhim Singh urged the President of India to go for Delimitation of the Constituencies at the earliest and hold fresh elections in Ladakh as well as in Jammu & Kashmir after restoring its statehood. Prof. Bhim Singh hoped that good sense may prevail in the minds of the leadership of the NDA and hoped that they shall persuade the reluctant Prime Minister to start a dialogue with the leadership of all recognized state political parties of erstwhile State of J&K. Prof. Bhim Singh also appealed Prime Minsiter of India to ensure that it is pen and not a gun that shall send the message of peace and human dignity to all people including Naxalvadies in some States and the militants in Jammu & Kashmir. He made strong appeal to the gun holding youth who have infiltrated to Jammu & Kashmir from across the borders and are spreading terror by the use of guns during holy month of Ramazan (which is interpreted as holy month of peace)in the peace-loving valley of Kashmir today. He called on them to surrender their guns before any appropriate authority/Police Station, wherever they are hiding assuring that he (Bhim Singh, Sr. Advocate in the Supreme Court of India) shall personally take their cases through State Legal Aid Committee, J&K to seek justice for them so that they shall get an opportunity to return to their families who are waiting for them in this month of Ramazan. NPP Supremo also urged the Prime Minister of India that Lt. Governor in Jammu & Kashmir may be advised for his immediate intervention to ensure that the Police/Security Forces in Kashmir shall not use guns/offensive against the angry youth holding guns in Kashmir during month of Ramazan. He reminded that the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi followed by Vinoba Bhave & Jayaprakash Narayan to involve angry masses in the peace process should be the guideline even today and the philosophy shall bring peace in all Naxalite areas and Kashmir in the country. Pen not the gun is the resolution of all human problems that is the teaching of all the philosophers of India. He appealed to not to use guns in the month of Ramazan and withdraw all security forces from the interior of Kashmir rural areas. Kashmir has its great history of cultural and human values. Pens not guns shall rule and peace shall return let month of Ramazan flow an ocean of peace and humanity.
