Bhaderwah, October 29 (Scoop News)-A group of 25 farmers drawn from different parts of Ramban District left for an exposure tour organized under the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP).
The delegation headed to the Regional Horticulture Research Sub Station and Krishi Vikas Kendra in Bhaderwah, Doda to gain hands-on experience with advanced horticulture techniques. Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, officially flagged off the tour in the presence of Chief Horticulture Officer Anil Kumar Gorka.
Before departure, the CHO briefed the orchardists on the importance of the program, encouraging them to observe and adopt modern apple high-density plantation techniques and management practices. He also emphasized on learning protected cultivation techniques, which can offer better crop yields. The orchardists will have opportunity to visit local orchards where they will observe innovative technologies that can help elevate their own horticultural practices and ultimately improve their socio-economic well-being.
To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, District Level Subject Matter Specialist Sandeep Sharma has been tasked with coordinating the visit. He will facilitate lectures and field visits to equip the farmers with up-to-date techniques and practical knowledge, which they can apply to their own orchards for increased productivity.
