Kargil, November21 (Scoop News)-Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today inaugurated the upgradation of Government Middle School Faroona to High School under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
Member of Parliament (MP), Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa; Executive Councillor for Education, Zakir Hussain; Councillor Saliskote, Sajjad Khan; Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kargil, S.D. Namgyal; Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Sankoo, along with Village Education Committees (VECs), villagers and students were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Akhoon appreciated the efforts of Councillor Sajjad Khan and Executive Councillor Zakir Hussain in facilitating the school’s upgradation. He announced that new teaching and non-teaching staff for various subjects will be deputed soon and assured that the Samagra Shiksha initiative would provide sufficient funds to address infrastructural needs.
The CEC emphasised the importance of skill-based learning, urging students to aim for self-reliance rather than solely focusing on government jobs. He further assured to upgrade it to Council Model High School if the school sees an increase in enrolment.
Dr. Akhoon said that education remains a top priority for the Hill Council and assured that all issues related to the school would be resolved at the council level.
MP Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa commended Councillor Sajjad Khan for his dedication and contributions toward the upgradation of the school. He pledged his continued support for improving educational infrastructure and called on the villagers to contribute actively to the school’s development.
Executive Councillor, Zakir Hussain urged parents to actively participate in enhancing the school’s quality and assured complete support from the Hill Council in ensuring the success of the upgradation initiative.
CEO Kargil, S.D. Namgyal, assured that staff issues would be addressed promptly and the Education Department would provide all necessary support to ensure the smooth functioning of the newly upgraded High School.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Councillor Sajjad Khan. He expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, CEC, MP Ladakh, EC Education, and all other stakeholders for their efforts in making the upgradation successful. |
