High level delegation from Kargil called on CM J&K Omar Abdullah at Jammu

Jammu, February 08 (Scoop News)- High level delegation lead by Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon met with the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah today.

The meeting was attended by Deputy CM Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Cabinet Minister Javed Rana, Chief Secretary J&k Atal Dulloo, Addl Chief Secretary Deeraj Gupa, Commissioner Secretary Education Shantamanu, Commissioner Secretary Health Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah besides other Commissioner Secretary and concerned officials from JK Administration.

The delegation from Kargil Ladakh comprised Member Parliament Ladakh Mohd Hanifa Jan, Executive Councillor Er Punchok Tasi, Executive Councillor Zakir Hussain, Former Minister and Councillor Feroz Ahmed Khan, Councilor Haji Abass, Abdul Wahed, Mohd Amin, Nasir Hussain Mushi district president INC, Additional General Secretary National Conference and Former Cabinet Minister Qamer Ali Akoon, Sarparast Aga Syed Mohd Megiod Anjuman Aalla Anjuman e Saheb Zaman were present.

The Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil presented memorandum containing charter of important demands arises in post UT which includes admission of candidates from Kargil in paramedical training institutes of J&K , reservation on the basis of ST for admission of students in various colleges and universities of J&K, Appointment of Nodal Officer and help desk for patients referred to SKIMS /GMC, providing of requisite logistics support for proper functioning of boys and girls hostels at Srinagar and Jammu and land for its expansion, Construction of Kargil Bhavan in Jammu and allotment of already acquired land, allotment of Parking space for Kargil taxi operators at Srinagar and Jammu and plying 3 way in April May, allotment of land for Graveyard for the people of Kargil at Srinagar and Jammu, arrangement of basic facilities for the people of Kargil living at various colonies in Jammu and Kashmir, Regularisation of casual labour of SKAUST , provision of seat for Registrarship for Ladakhi PG doctor’s, Regulations of Engineering cadre in PDD and Promotion of Lecturer in Education Department.

CM Omar Abdullah gave a patient hearing to all the demands and said that he is committed to extend all possible facilities to the newly bifurcated UT of Ladakh and said that last year 245 vacancies left vacant in various paramedical College of J&K.

CM Omar Abdullah said that through Board of Professional Entrance Exam (BOPEE) students of Kargil will get admission and he also assured that students of Kargil will get admission in other colleges and universities Jammu and Kashmir.

CM Omar Abdullah also assured that basic amenities like water, roads , electricity will be provided to the residents of Kargil and Leh who are residing in Jammu and Srinagar.

CM Omar Abullah assured to provide help desk at SKIMS and other super specialty Hospital in Srinagar to ease and hassle free admission of referal patients besides rest of the demands will also be resolved on priority basis in a phased manner.

He has assured to extend all possible facilities in UT of JK for the people of Ladakh and committed to maintain the best possible relationship.
He has also assured to promote Kargil as a tourist destination along with Sonamarg and other part of Kashmir.
