Jammu, March 12 (Scoop News)-High level delegation of JKPCC headed by Working President Shri Raman Bhalla ,on the instructions of PCC President Shri Tariq Hameed Karra, today met the Former Chief Minister& National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah, at his residence at Bhathindi ,today & expressed solidarity with him and heaved a sigh of relief that he escaped unhurt in a serious assassination bid on his life last night.
The delegation comprised Former ministers Mula Ram & Yogesh Sawhney, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, Former MLCs Ved Mahajan & Th Balbir Singh.
The Congress leaders extended good wishes to him on behalf of the party and shared their great concern over the serious security breach & the overall security situation in the wake of prevailing social environment .The meeting which lasted for over 40 mts witnessed exchange of views for defeating the radical politics of hate and division and to work to create atmosphere of peace & harmony in the society, in tune with true spirit of democracy .
Later talking to reporters outside the gate while coming out ,the Congress leaders strongly condemned the incident and raised serious questions over the security breach and multiple security lapses witnessed yesterday ,leading to the serious assassination bid on the life of a highly protected leader of the stature of Dr Farooq Abdullah.
Expressing surprise, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson questioned as to how the would be assisin reached so close to the dignitary with a weapon, despite Z plus NSG security cover adding that as revealed, there was no metal detector at the place despite prior knowledge of the very high level dignatories attending the function. So much so,the accused was captured and reportdly carried to police station by the security and people accompanying Dr Abdullah in their own vehicle in view of total absence of police around the venue of function.
An indepth investigation into all these aspects and security lapses should be held besides an over all security review of all protected persons,keeping in view the environment. The conspiracy and motivations behind should also be investigated.
He reflected on the seriousness of the matter while referring to the concern raised by the Congress President Shri Malikarjun Kharge in the parliament today over the incident besides PCC President Tariq Hameed Karra speaking to Dr Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over the incident. Apart from serious security lapses , the politics of hate and violence in the present times has created an atmosphere behind such a tendency to kill, against which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi ji is leading a movement.
