Jammu, March 12 (Scoop News)- Jammu & Kashmir BJP held a meeting of its Panchayati Raj Cell at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to review the functioning of the cell and chalk out strategies to strengthen grassroots-level outreach.

J&K BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul and All Cells Incharge Ved Sharma along with Panchayati Raj Cell Convenor Advocate Jitender Sharma, Co-Convenors Aman Sharma and Randhir Sharma, addressed the meeting, which was attended by the state executive members of Panchayati Raj Cell.

Addressing the meeting, Ashok Koul emphasized the crucial role of Panchayati Raj institutions in strengthening democracy at the grassroots level. He said that the Modi-led government at the Centre has shown an unwavering commitment to empowering the three-tier democratic system in Jammu & Kashmir by ensuring greater participation of people in governance and development.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has launched several transformative schemes for farmers, youth, women, and the underprivileged. It is the responsibility of BJP workers, especially those associated with the Panchayati Raj Cell, to monitor whether the benefits such as subsidies and financial assistance are reaching the targeted beneficiaries,” Koul said.

Koul specifically stressed the need to closely monitor schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and other welfare programmes so that eligible farmers and citizens receive their rightful benefits without any delay. He further called upon the members to strengthen the presence of the BJP Panchayati Raj Cell at the grassroots level and maintain continuous interaction with the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Ved Sharma reviewed the work carried out by the Panchayati Raj Cell and appreciated the efforts of its members in promoting the party’s policies and programmes. He also assigned new responsibilities to the members and urged them to further intensify their outreach.

Ved Sharma said that BJP has always worked to empower local governance institutions and ensure transparency and accountability in the implementation of developmental schemes. He stressed that Panchayati Raj representatives and BJP workers must play a proactive role in bridging the gap between the government and the people.

The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Advocate Jitender Sharma.
