Jammu, March 30 (Scoop News)-Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President (Jammu) of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, on Monday emphasized the government’s commitment to putting the remote and underexplored regions of Jammu on the national tourism map through the development of vibrant religious circuits.
Addressing a delegation from Udhampur Rural, headed by Ram Parshotam Sharma District President Udhampur Rural. Gupta highlighted the immense untapped potential of the region, particularly its rich heritage of ancient temples and spiritual sites. He noted that structured development of religious tourism circuits would not only preserve this heritage but also generate livelihood opportunities and boost the local economy.
The visiting delegation raised several pressing concerns, including inadequate surface connectivity, gaps in healthcare services, and the need for improved educational infrastructure. Stressing the urgency of these issues, they also strongly advocated for the creation of a dedicated religious tourism circuit in the area, pointing out that such an initiative could transform Udhampur Rural into a significant pilgrimage destination.
Taking serious note of the concerns, Gupta assured the delegation that all issues would be taken up with the concerned departments for timely redressal. He reiterated that the National Conference remains steadfast in its resolve to ensure balanced and inclusive development across all regions, with special focus on far-flung and neglected areas.
Gupta further underscored that strengthening infrastructure and promoting tourism go hand in hand, and that the government is actively working on policies aimed at enhancing connectivity, upgrading public services, and unlocking the tourism potential of Jammu province.
The interaction concluded on a positive note, with the delegation expressing optimism and appreciation for the leadership’s responsiveness, while Gupta reaffirmed his commitment to addressing public concerns and accelerating development initiatives in the region.
