Awantipora, May 07(Scoop News)-Syed Mantaqui Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology (SMMCN&MT), Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), in collaboration with the Urban Health Training Centre Brakpora (PHC Brakpora, Anantnag), organised a Dental Health Screening and Awareness Programme at Brakpora, Anantnag, as part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives.
Coordinated by Outreach Coordinator Ms. Mubashir Bashir, the programme aimed to promote oral health awareness and preventive dental care among students. The initiative focused on the early detection of common dental ailments such as tooth decay and gum disease, while also educating students about oral hygiene practices and healthy dietary habits.
The screening activities included visual dental examinations, oral health education sessions, demonstrations on proper brushing and flossing techniques, and preventive guidance on maintaining dental hygiene. The programme was conducted by senior dentists, healthcare staff, and nursing trainers. Mr. Mohammad Azam Dar, Faculty, SMMCN&MT, coordinated the awareness sessions and guided students during the programme. The initiative aimed to foster greater awareness about oral hygiene and encourage preventive dental care practices among school students.
