Awantipora, , May 14 (Scoop News)-Continuing its efforts to strengthen the student welfare and communication and foster their overall involvement in the university life, the Office of the Dean of Students held a comprehensive interactive session with the members of the Council of Students IUST.
The meeting, chaired by the Dean of Students, was attended by the members of the Advisory Committee to the Council of Students. During the session, Dr Monisa Qadiri, Dean of Students, highlighted the council’s mandate to function as an active bridge connecting the student community with academic and administrative leadership. Dr Peer Bilal, Coordinator, Advisory Committee, and Director of the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA), outlined the various mechanisms in place in the university to ensure a quality academic and research ecosystem.
The council representatives from various departments and centres engaged in a detailed interaction and shared their suggestions about different aspects of the university. The meeting was attended by other Advisory Committee members, including Ms Shazana Andrabi, Dr Aamir Hussain Dar, Dr Ahsan Hussain, Dr Shumila Cheshti, and Dr Sheikh Shueb.
On this occasion, as part of the university’s ongoing campaign envisioned by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, the Dean of Students Office also held a badge distribution drive among the Student Council members and faculty members of the university under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan IUST. The student ambassadors pledged to create an anti-drug ecosystem in and outside the university.
