Nubra, August 13 (Scoop News)-Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Sh. Mukul Beniwal, IAS, chaired a review meeting to assess the overall progress of works being undertaken under various schemes of the Rural Development Department in Nubra.
During the meeting, the ACD, RDD Leh, Sh. Jigmet Raftan, JKAS, apprised the Deputy Commissioner of the status of works being executed under various schemes, including District CAPEX, SDP and VB-G RAM-G. The progress of ongoing works was reviewed in detail, with particular focus on physical achievements, expenditure status, pending bills and liabilities.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the role of Panchayats as the third tier of elected government and highlighted the crucial role of Panchayat Secretaries in the present administrative framework. He stressed upon them to remain well versed with their respective roles, responsibilities and accountabilities and ensure their effective discharge at the Panchayat level. He further directed the concerned officers to ensure that the Community Facility Centres are made functional at the earliest.
The ACD emphasized the need for close coordination among technical personnel, including Junior Engineers and Panchayat Secretaries, to ensure effective monitoring and timely execution of works.
The meeting was attended by BDOs, Junior Engineers and Panchayat Secretaries from across Nubra District.
