Srinagar, August 13 (Scoop News)-The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar on Thursday commenced admissions to its undergraduate programme, with around 90 candidates completing the admission process on the first day. The admissions will continue over the next few days.
The first phase of admissions began for the Civil Engineering programme, with 90 students completing their admission formalities on Thursday.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. B.A. Mir, said the Institute has put in place comprehensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and hassle-free admission process for students and their parents.
“Our teams are working tirelessly from 8: 30 AM to 6:30 PM to ensure a hassle-free experience for students and parents. The process has been streamlined so that all necessary facilities and services are available under one roof,” he said.
Prof. Mir further said that Director NIT Srinagar, Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia, is in constant touch with him and closely monitoring the admission process.
He said the Director has been providing guidance and necessary support to ensure that the entire process remains smooth and hassle-free for students and their parents.
Prof. Mir also appreciated the efforts of the Associate Dean Examination, Associate Dean PG, Associate Dean Academic Affairs, Associate Dean ERP and Assistant Registrar Academics Affairs, ERP officials, staff members and other teams involved in the admission process for ensuring efficient coordination and timely completion of formalities.
He also acknowledged the support extended by the Dean Students Welfare, administration and essential service units, including the Health Centre, sanitation and security teams, which collectively facilitated the smooth conduct of the admissions.
Meanwhile, Registrar Prof Atikur Rehman and In-charge Director Prof. Roohie Naaz also personally inspected the admission arrangements and interacted with the teams and students during the process, providing further encouragement to the officials engaged in the admissions.
Earlier this week, the Institute also completed the postgraduate admission process, with 194 candidates selected for admission under various PG programmes.
Several parents appreciated the arrangements made by the Institute for the students on the campus.
Rajesh Kumar from Punjab, whose son secured admission to NIT Srinagar, said the process was systematic and convenient.
“From verification of documents to the final admission formalities, everything was handled efficiently. The staff members were helpful and guided us at every stage,” he said.
Gomti Aggarwal, a parent from Hyderabad, whose son was admitted to Civil Engineering, also appreciated the arrangements.
“We were guided properly throughout the process. Having different facilities available at one place made the admission process much easier for students and parents,” she said.
Another parent, Ram Seni from Rajasthan, said the Institute had made adequate arrangements to manage the rush of students and parents.
“The arrangements were very good, and the staff was cooperative. We completed the formalities without any unnecessary delay,” he said.
