Full-Dress Rehearsal Held at the International Horse Polo Stadium

Drass, August 13 (Scoop News)- District Drass today witnessed a spirited Full-Dress Rehearsal at the International Horse Polo Stadium, Drass, ahead of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, showcasing patriotic fervour, discipline and coordinated preparedness for the national event.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Drass, Vishal Atri (JKAS) took the salute and attended the programme along with of Tehsildar (Headquarter), Naib Tehsildar (Headquarter), Station House Officer, Zonal Education Officer and Zonal Physical Education Officer and others officials.

The parade was led by Mohammad Iliyas as the First Parade Commander while Mohammad Isaq served as the Second Parade Commander. Contingents from the Police, Ex-Servicemen, National Cadet Corps (NCC)GDC-Drass and various schools participated in the march-past, demonstrating commendable discipline, coordination and enthusiasm.

Addressing the gathering, the SDM highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the values associated with the nation’s freedom. He said the occasion is not merely a national celebration but also an opportunity to remember and honour the courage, sacrifices and invaluable contributions of the freedom fighters who dedicated themselves to securing the country’s independence.

The SDM emphasized the importance of patriotism, national unity, discipline and responsible citizenship, particularly among the younger generation. He encouraged students and youth to contribute positively to society and the nation through education, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility. He also appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students, parade contingents, officials and various departments involved in the rehearsal. He lauded their collective efforts and stressed that such national occasions strengthen the spirit of unity and deepen respect for the country and the National Flag.

The rehearsal also featured colourful cultural performances by students from different schools. The students presented a variety of programmes showcasing patriotism, cultural heritage and national pride, adding vibrancy and enthusiasm to the occasion.

Officials and representatives from various departments, including the Medical Department, Youth Services & Sports, PHE along with teachers, faculty members and other concerned officials attended and participated in the rehearsal.

The Full Dress Rehearsal concluded successfully, reflecting the preparedness, discipline and coordinated efforts of all stakeholders for the grand celebration of the 80th Independence Day on August 15 in District Drass.
