Srinagar, September 03 (Scoop News)-The Forty-First National Convention of Chemical Engineers and National Seminar, organised by the Institution of Engineers (India), J&K State Centre, concluded today in Srinagar with extensive technical deliberations on sustainable engineering, emerging technologies and the evolving role of chemical engineers in addressing contemporary industrial and environmental challenges.
The two-day national convention, held on the theme “Biomass: A Sustainable Resource for Decarbonising the Economy,” was inaugurated yesterday by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Jenab Omar Abdullah, in the presence of Jenab Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of J&K and other senior dignitaries, eminent engineers, academicians, researchers, industry professionals and young engineering scholars from across the country.
The second day of the convention continued with focused technical with Keynote Address by Dr. Tanveer Rasool, FIE, and PowerPoint Presentations by Er. Sayyed Parvez Qalandar, FIE, CEO, Able Industrial Data Consultants, Srinagar, Dr. Fatima Jalid, MIE, Assistant Professor, NIT Srinagar, Dr. Nidhi Sisodia, Senior Scientific Officer, NITRA, Ghaziabad, Er. Arbeen Mehraj, Student, NIT Srinagar, and Er. Tagamud Tazmeen, Research Scholar, NIT Srinagar.
The convention culminated in the Valedictory Session, with Er. Kulwant Singh Chib, Chief Engineer, Mechanical & Hospital Engineering Department, Kashmir, as the Chief Guest and Er. Javeed Ahmad Tantray, Superintending Engineer, Mechanical & Hospital Circle, Kashmir, as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Ferdous Ahad Bhat, FIE, Chairman, IEI-JKSC, expressed satisfaction over the successful conclusion of the prestigious national convention in Jammu & Kashmir after several decades. He said that the event marked an important milestone for the State Centre and provided an opportunity to bring the engineering fraternity, academia, research institutions and industry together on a common platform.
Er. Irfan Ahmad Reshi, MIE, Honorary Secretary, IEI-JKSC, who played a key role in the coordination and conduct of the convention, emphasised the importance of sustaining the momentum generated through the two-day programme.
The successful conclusion of the convention marked not merely the close of a two-day technical gathering, but the strengthening of a continuing dialogue between engineering knowledge, scientific research and practical application, further advancing the vision of a developed, progressive and sustainable Jammu & Kashmir.
