Poonch, November 04 (Scoop News)-Principal Census Officer, (Deputy Commissioner), Ashok Kumar Sharma today inaugurated a two-day training programme to equip the concerned officers with the requisite knowledge and operational preparedness for the smooth conduct of the census exercise under Phase II.
Sub Divisional Magistrates, Charge Officers, including Tehsildars and Executive Officers of Municipal Bodies, census clerk and other supporting staff participated in the training programme.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the significance of Census 2027 as an important national exercise and stressed the need for accuracy, dedication and accountability in the discharge of assigned duties. He observed that reliable census data serves as a vital foundation for effective planning, policy formulation and evidence-based governance.
The technical sessions were conducted by District Coordinator, Directorate of Census Operations Jammu and Kashmir Varun Kumar. He sensitised the participants about the prescribed operational guidelines, digital applications and field-level procedures to be followed during Phase-II of Census 2027.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, Assistant Commissioner Mohammed Sayeed and District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Javaid Ahmed also attended the programme. They emphasised the importance of inter-departmental coordination, timely execution of assigned responsibilities and strict adherence to the prescribed guidelines for ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of Phase-II of Census 2027 in the district.
