Children as Ambassador of Child Protection: Advisor Farooq Khan

Jammu, January 12 (Scoop News)-National Development foundation J&K Jammu in collaboration with District office ICPS and with support from EU, organized a training programme for child groups of Jammu to mark National Youth Day at The institution of Engineers, Channi, Jammu
Sh. Farooq Khan, Advisor to Hon'ble LG was Chief Guest on the occasion while Ms. Shabnam Shah Kamili SMD ICPS, Ms. Neetu Gupta MD ICDS, Sh. Shreedhar Patil SSP Jammu and Sh. Rajeshwar Singh Jamwal Sr. advocate and representative of Civil Society Alliance on Child Rights were present on the occasion and addressed the children by giving them good messages and ensured full cooperation of their respective departments. The Programme started with lighting of traditional lamp & paying tribute to Swami Vivekananda. Around 100 children from 10 villages of Jammu Children Groups, representative to Bal Ashram and Nari Niketan attended the program, Sh. Ajay Salan, DCPO Jammu presented vote to thanks.
Sh. Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus, National Development foundation briefed the house the contents of the capacity building program and overall activities being organized by National Development Foundation for strengthening child protection mechanize and providing access to justice to the children Jammu and Kashmir. Sh. Rajeshwar Jamwal Sr. Adv and Member Interagency Regional Alliance for the rights of Child presented memorandum to the Advisor highlighting issues, which can strength child protection in UT.
Sh. Farooq Khan Advisor in his addressed called upon the children to act as an ambassador of Child protection in their respective village. He asked them to report all child protection issues related to children in need of Care and protection. He said that the children are abused in society as well as in family setting. He stressed upon the need that children must be awared that what is right and what is wrong for them . He strongly condemned that employing children as domestic help and in child labour and said that government is very serious on such issues. He called on the rehabilitation of children in need of care of protection under ICPS Schemes and JJ Act. He also suggested to the Jammu police to start youth and Child connect programme by deputing one sensible man and one sensible women constable who are trained in child protection issues. He appealed to the children and youth to be the eye and ear of the govt. to make child protection a reality. Mr. Khan complimented the efforts of National Development Foundation particularly of its Founder Mr. Rajiv Khajuria and assured full cooperation of the UT govt. to National Development Foundation.
