Draft Policy on Transgender Persons: SWD seeks views of stakeholders
Jammu, December 16 (Scoop News)- The Government is in the process of formulating a holistic welfare policy for the transgender persons in the state. The policy is aimed at providing a legal framework for the welfare of transgender persons including their social inclusion, education, employment, healthcare and other related issues. The Social Welfare Department has put the Draft Policy in public domain to solicit views and suggestions of the stakeholders. The Draft Policy is available on official website of the Department at www.jksocialwelfare.nic.in. Army organises Pir Panjal cross country league

SAC approves legislation to tackle Benami transactions
Jammu, December 09 (Scoop News)- The State Administrative Council (SAC) under the chairmanship of Governor, Satya Pal Malik approved the ‘Jammu and Kashmir Prohibition of Benami Property Transactions Bill, 2018’. The Bill is a comprehensive law aimed at tackling Benami transactions in the State. The Bill provides for creation of the requisite administrative structure for enforcement of the law and empowers the Designated Authorities to attach and confiscate any property which is held to be Benami.
