| DC Leh reviews arrangement for Apricot Blossom Fest to be held in Leh district | |
Leh,(Ladakh), April 07(Scoop News)- Deputy Commissioner (DC), Leh, Shrikant Suse, today reviewed the arrangements for the Apricot Blossom Festival to be held in Leh district.
The Apricot Blossom Festival would be held in the Turtuk and Tyakshi villages of Nubra sub-division on April 12 and 13, whereas the same event would be organised at Dah and Beema in the Khaltse sub-division on April 17 and 18.
It was decided in the meeting to organise the event in orchards to give the visitors the essence of apricot blooming.
Additional Director, Tourism, Jigmet Namgyal, informed the officials that walks would be held on a few selected streets where people can stop by the artisans, enjoy food at local food stalls, buy items from crafts and handloom stalls and watch cultural programmes while walking through the street. A committee would soon be formed for this.
DC Leh directed the sub-district magistrates (SDMs) of Nubra and Khaltse sub-division to convene a meeting to review the arrangements for the event and arrangements for VIPs and guests.
DC Leh also stressed the strict adherence of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) during the Festival. He directed the Additional Director, Tourism, to depute an advance team from the Tourism Department to review the arrangements in coordination with the concerned SDMs.
