| DC Leh Santosh Sukhadeve chairs meeting on NCORD | |
Leh, March 28 (Scoop News)-The District Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve chaired a meeting today on March 28 with the District Level Committee of Narco Coordination Center (NCORD).
Additional Superintendent of Police(ASP), Leh, Rigzin Sangdup informed DC, Leh about the number of cases they have registered under the COTPA act and the number of people that they have arrested related to drug activities.
Assistant Controller, Drugs Controlling Authority, Leh, Nasreen and a representative of the Chief Medical Officer(CMO) raised the issue of sale of cool lip which is an addictive product sold to children. They stated that in their recent raids they have found this product in large quantities. An overview of the Nasha Mukti activities conducted and plans for the future were shared by Psychiatrist, SNM Hospital, Dr Padma Angmo.
DC, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve reviewed the status of the Drug De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) and the Drug awareness schemes being conducted in schools. He instructed the DCA to provide a report on the sale of Schedule-H drugs. In regard to the sale of cool lip and cigarettes, he asked the department to submit a report so that he can move forward with taking suitable actions.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Director, ITBF, Leh; IC, Narcotic Cell, Dist. Police, Leh, Tsewang Stanzin and other members of the District Level Committee.
