Manjit Singh holds JPDCL responsible for power crises in Jammu
Jammu, July 25 (Scoop News)-Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today strongly criticized the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) for deepening power crises in Jammu that has put normal life out of gear.

“The electricity crisis has deepened in Jammu due to the unscheduled long hours power cuts affecting the normal life as well as the business establishments,” said the Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh, while chairing a meeting of Apni Party leaders of District Committee, Jammu at Gandhi Nagar Office of the Party. The meeting was attended by the senior leaders of the Party.

While reviewing the working of the party, and issues confronted by the people, the Former Minister held a threadbare discussion over various issues.

He said that the electricity crisis has persisted continuously for the last three months with no attempt from the Govt to address the concern of the people in Jammu. The people suffered during the heatwave and the JPDCL remained in deep slumber.

He further stated that the people are suffering, and the Govt has failed to take any step to ensure adequate power supply. Instead, the JPDCL has been charging excessive bills to the power consumers even as they are being supplied very less electricity in comparison to the charges they pay.

“The power cuts go up to 8 to 10 hours in a day. The damaged transformers, and electricity poles replacement taking weeks and hence, the people suffering for one reason, or the other,” he added.
He, however, cautioned the authorities that if they fail to address the growing electricity crisis in Jammu, the Apni Party will hit the roads, and protest the JPDCL and the Govt’s failure to address the issues of the people.
