GDC Drass organizes certificate distribution program for Skill Courses


Kargil, November 11 (Scoop News)-Govt. Degree College Drass today organized a certificate distribution program to honor participants of skill courses in Pickle Making Technician and High-Altitude Trekking Guide at College’s Seminar Hall.

The event was organized by the Department of Skill Development under the overall supervision of Principal, GDC Drass, Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi.

Councilor, Ranbirpora Constituency, Abdul Samad, was the special guest. Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi delivered the welcome address, expressing pride in the college’s role in offering practical, career-enriching courses that directly contribute to community growth and employability. The Principal announced the addition and approval of the Skill Course in Basic Computers in the College.

The courses were designed to equip students with practical, marketable skills. The Pickle Making Technician Course, led by Er. Mir Ishfaq Ahmad offered comprehensive training in both traditional and innovative pickle-making techniques.

The High-Altitude Trekking course, led by Suhail Ahmad Bhat, an experienced trekking guide, prepared participants for safe and effective high-altitude expeditions—a skill vital to Drass, known for its rugged terrains and tourism potential.

Councillor Abdul Samad congratulated the students, stating, “The knowledge and skills gained through these programs are invaluable assets that not only empower individuals but also strengthen the economic fabric of our community. It is heartening to see such practical courses being prioritized and embraced.”

The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. Mohd Hassan acknowledging the hard work of the students, dedication of the instructors, and collaborative efforts of the Department of Skill Development. Dr. Haroon Rashid conducted the program proceedings.

The event emphasized the college’s commitment to bridging educational initiatives with real-world applications, preparing students for meaningful career paths and self-sufficiency.

Course students and attendees shared a sense of pride and accomplishment as they celebrated this milestone, symbolizing a new chapter of opportunities in their professional journeys.
