For over four decades, Dr. Varghese has been a beacon of light, guiding CURE International India Trust in its mission to transform the lives of countless children. Through a network of 418 clinics spread across the nation,the organization has extended a lifeline to over 112,000 children afflicted with clubfoot. Even after retiring in
2022, Dr. Varghese remains an unwavering force, mentoring young surgeons and advocating for equitable healthcare access.
As he accepted the award remotely, his voice, though weakened by concern for his ailing mother, resonated
with unwavering determination. "This award," he humbly stated, "is not for me, but for the countless children whose lives will be touched by it. Our vision is to reach every corner of India, ensuring that every child receives
timely and effective clubfoot treatment using the Ponseti method. While we've made significant strides, our journey is far from over."
