CEC Tashi Gyalson attends Annual School Meet at GHS Wanla

Leh,November23 (Scoop News)-Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson attended the annual school meet at Government High School (GHS), Wanla, as the Chief Guest.

The event was graced by the presence of the District President of BJP Leh, Tashi Gyalson Khachu; the Nambardar of Wanla village; Ven Tonyot of Wanla Gonpa; Headmistress of GHS Wanla, Sonam Dolma; Village Education Committee (VEC) Chairman, Padma Angmo; along with teachers, students, and a large gathering of locals.

In her welcome address, Headmistress Sonam Dolma expressed her gratitude to the Hon’ble CEC for attending the event as the Chief Guest. She highlighted the school's achievements in the last CBSE examinations and its accomplishments in co-curricular activities over the past year.

The Hon’ble CEC congratulated the school on its impressive performance in academics and extracurricular activities, particularly the students' success in the last CBSE examinations. He lauded the staff and students for their skit performance at the UT level event held in Leh, emphasizing the immense potential of the students. He urged teachers to provide training and guidance to students across various fields to nurture their talents.

The Hon’ble CEC also praised the student from GHS Wanla who participated in the UT Foundation Day celebration at Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 31, 2024. He encouraged teachers to organize quiz competitions and other co-curricular activities to build the students' confidence.

During the event, the Hon’ble CEC and other dignitaries felicitated the "Best Student of the Year" from GHS Wanla.

The program featured a welcome speech by Nambardar of Wanla-A, Skarma Rinchen, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nambardar of Wanla-B, Tashi Dorjey.

A cultural performance was also presented by the students of the school.

Following the event, the Hon’ble CEC met with several delegations from Wanla, who submitted memorandums of demands. He patiently listened to their concerns and assured timely redressal of the issues raised.

The Hon’ble CEC also visited Photoksar village, where he engaged with the villagers to address their concerns. The Nambardar of the village expressed gratitude for the successful completion of road connectivity and requested additional development, including a futsal ground and land for constructing a Saria at Wanla.

Addressing the villagers, the Hon’ble CEC assured them that the remaining road construction work would be completed next year. He also pledged to prioritize the provision of a futsal ground and other developmental projects in the coming years.

Later, the Hon’ble CEC visited Hanupatta village, where he met with various delegations and received memorandums outlining their demands. He assured the villagers of his commitment to addressing their concerns and ensuring their timely resolution.
