IUST and University of Jammu Delegation Explores Collaborative Opportunities with Leading British Universities


Awantipora, February 21 (Scoop News)-A high-level delegation from the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) and the University of Jammu (JU), led by Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice Chairman, J&K Higher Education Council and Former Vice Chancellor, Delhi University, embarked on an exposure visit to prominent British universities. The visit aimed to foster research and development (R&D), academic partnerships, and student and faculty exchange collaborations.

The IUST delegation included Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo (Vice Chancellor IUST), Prof. Parvez A. Mir, Dr. Shahkar Nehvi, and Dr. Ruheela Hassan, while the University of Jammu was represented by Prof. Manoj Dhar, Prof. Anju Bhasin, Prof. Alka Sharma, and Prof. Sadaf. During the visit, the Design Your Own Degree (DYOD) program, launched by several universities in Jammu and Kashmir, including IUST, received widespread appreciation from UK academicians. Many British universities expressed a keen interest in establishing collaborative initiatives with IUST and other institutions in J&K.

The delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with representatives from leading institutions including University College London (UCL), Middlesex University, University of Cambridge, National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU), University Interdisciplinary School. The discussions revolved around long-term academic and research collaborations, exploring innovative educational models, and enhancing global learning opportunities for students and faculty from Jammu and Kashmir.
